Q:For purposes of keeping loose dogs from attacking our leashed tiny dogs, what size would be best? Do the longer ones bend to much to aim well?
A:Pick your tiny dog up when in possible danger. A prod not gonna stop a killer dog from gettin in a big bite

They don't bend much, but they are pretty high powered and I wouldn't use them on a dog.
